Touch Protecion (UL or IEC Finger Test)

Often, when the connector has to be handled by the general public, it is required that the plug (or receptacle) passes the UL or IEC finger test. A small metal probe (finger) is inserted into the connector. The test is successful if none of the contacts touch the finger.

ODU has modified its standard inserts to include a center plastic cylinder. This cylinder creates a barrier to the UL finger and prevents it from touching the contacts.
